Statement From Trayvon Martin’s Family and Their Attorneys

Statement from Trayvon Martin’s Family and their Attorneys

One year ago today, the State of Florida decided that there was evidence to charge George Zimmerman for second-degree murder for profiling, pursuing, and killing our unarmed teenage son. The facts of this case are simple and straightforward. We are confident that a jury following the overwhelming evidence against George Zimmerman will hold him accountable for killing our son, Trayvon Martin.

For the Zimmerman family to allege that the justice system doesn’t work, simply because they are unhappy their son was arrested in the first place, is disingenuous and disrespectful to the very system that is currently affording him every available opportunity to defend himself. The arrest of an admitted killer is not a violation of due process, it is due process. Most will agree that no one has been given greater consideration by the justice system for killing an unarmed child, than George Zimmerman.

We continue to pray that our son’s death will serve as a catalyst in preventing other senseless acts of gun violence.

If tracy and sybrina didn’t raise an anaimal that savage wouldn’t be in the cemetary today

Who told you, captain? Diwataman, The Conservative Treehouse, or Mike McDaniels, Jeralyn Merrit, I slightly hesitate to add, Rene Stutzman, among others?

Or do you have GZ’s problem that you are easily suspicious and want to see your right maintained to report, persecute and kill everybody you think fits into your own or into the more collective bias categories?

Some of us don’t find it so easy to accept, as GZ wants us to, if he had to shoot as a result something must have been wrong with Trayvon Martin. He may have reflected on that before he did shoot?

Never mind that he wasn’t a burglar but in a surprise move turned out to be a savage killer without the least motive? So ultimately the initial suspicion must have been correct after all?

Very, very hard to believe. What’s your evidence? As an American military man wrote me privately: You are naive, if you do not see that some blacks hat whites? Not enough for me, if you don’t prove that TM belonged into this category. Maybe defense should concentrate on that instead of defaming Trayvon’s parents via their lawyer? Or is there nothing to be found there? So they need a little distraction for people like you?

      • REDRIDER says :

Maybe defense should concentrate on that instead of defaming Trayvon’s parents via their lawyer?

The only defaming is of their Lawyer #CRUMP he is unethical and a Liar and when this case is over he should loose his lisence to practice law and be charged with coersion and falsifying legal documents. He claims to have discovery of key areas in case but will not disclose AS REQUIRED BY LAW he should PUT UP OR SHUT UP

      • LeaNder says :

Yes, opinions differ, obviously. Benjamin Crump has my fullest respect for what he did for Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin and connected to that Trayvon Martin. I am very, very glad that they found there way to him.

Redrider in capitals. Is the red supposed to show your political colors? Including capitalization. Interesting.;)

I will be praying for you all and for justice to be swift. May God help you find the greater good out of this senseless murder so that Trayvon’s memory will stand for something good and true. I admire the grace and dignity that Tracy and Sybrina have shown during the worst nightmare any parent could ever endure. I hope they know that there are many more people who are on the side of right in this case than there are who think George Zimmerman should cheat justice. They may be louder and nastier but please know that we will continue to have our #hoodiesup and to fight for a safer world to raise our children.

Amen! Justice for Trayvon! My prayers and thoughts are with the Martin and Fulton family. May God continue to provide strength as through they go these difficult and emotional time. #HoodiesUP

I did not know Trayvon or his family. That said, he is a beautiful young man, inside and out. My thoughts are with his family, especially his parents – that they may find the strength it takes to put their feet on the floor each morning and put one step in front of the other.

Uh Oh….looks like proof has turned up that Tampon has a sizable police record! How are ya gonna spin this one Traytards!

    • LeaNder says :

Oh, I see you link to the nutties in the trees. There is one problem with the story, look at the date of Randy Smith mail, tells me all I need to know.

Well so far that is only a very vague rumor, started by an article in the Miami Herold’s Francis Robles, concerning the jewelery and screw driver. The early discovery reports only mention one “field contact”. Which no doubt could allude to the story. But don’t you think that if the rumor was correct and these items were found in Trayvon Martin’s bag, that police would have checked their database for burglaries where such stuff was missing? Would police if that was the case and it was in fact more than a rumor not have had Trayvon Martin’s fingerprints? Wouldn’t they have needed to compare with the ones they took in the special case?

I don’t envy you for your mindset. Captain. What exactly is “schlong”, I am a bloody foreigner. Hmmm, I see you are extra virile, that’s not my type of people either. Good bye, schlong.

  8. Cercando Luce says :

What a dignified response on the part of Trayvon’s parents.

  9. Animaljunkie says :

You can’t get a better retort than those written by Mr Crump Esq i.e. he always takes the high ground, as opposed to O’Mara & West!

Sybrina Fulton doesn’t believe in paying her rent. ironic for a housing authority employee http://imgur.com/Y1AJm3B

    • Soulcatcher says :

I don’t see anywhere on the information you provided that states this was failure to pay rent, do you? How does this information pertain to the murder of Treyvon? I don’t want to be the first to break the news to you, so do your homework on how many people smoke weed in America. I would be more concerned about the drugs Zimmerman was on when he shot and killed Treyvon with his wifes gun. Your fish tales are played out, just for the halibut, keep to the facts please Captain.

SO WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT WEED PIPES HARDLY A JUSTIFICATION FOR MURDER IF THAT’S THE BEST YOU CAN COME UP WITH WE BETTER GO KILL MOST OF THE TEENAGERS IN THIS COUNTRY. MORE THAN 2/3S OF THE TEENAGERS IN THIS HAVE SMOKED WEED.

    • Kelly Payne says :

WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THOSE CASES ONE WAS WRITING ON A LOCKER THE OTHER WAS AN EMPTY BAGGIE. FUNNY HOW YOU WANT MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT A KID WHO SMOKED WEED A FEW TIMES WHILE IGNORING ZIMMERPUNK’S DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF VIOLENCE AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE.

  15. notsosad says :

why can’t folks accept bad things happen, without playing the race card?
what happened is awful, all this race BS isn’t going bring this child back.

  16. bangazcracka says :

I’m so mad. Look at this hate filled thing my boy friend just showed me some racist wrote about sweet little Trayvon:

“For someone, especially a youth, to climb on another person and then begin to slam their head into concrete is an act that takes a special willingness to do. Those willing to do it know that such an act WILL cause severe injuries up to and including death.”

There is nothing but racism and hatred in that language. So what if Zimmerman thought he was going to die he deserved it; that was not Trayvon’s issue. A sweet innocent little child was only just protecting his honor because he had been dissed by some old white cracker.

Zimmerman deserved the punishment he was getting, and had no right to murder a sweet little innocent child. If Zimmerman could not manage to get loose from a child, it was not legally the child’s problem. There is no law that says a child has to let Zimmerman up, and there is certainly no law that gives Zimmerman the right to murder an innocent child.

By law it was strictly up to Zimmerman to find a way to get away from this child. Maybe if Zimmerman had not been able to murder this sweet child then Zimmerman maybe might have died, but so what, there is no way a little child could be criminally liable cause it would not have been the child’s fault that Zimmerman was so fat and weak to be able to get away. And, besides Zimmerman started it by getting out of his truck did he not?

By law then this sweet innocent little child should have been able to murder Zimmerman because of what Zimmerman did. Once Zimmerman got out of his truck, and looked at the child, by law the child had a legal right to bash in Zimmerman’s skull and murder him, and if Zimmerman died so what? It sure did not give Zimmerman the legal right to fight back.

The way I see it is once it all started to go down, the only way Zimmerman could have stayed out of trouble would have been for him to just give it up and let this sweet child finish him off like you would a mad dog. But, as we have sadly come to expect from racists he ‘made a deliberate and calculated decision’ to stay alive, and for that Zimmerman deserves to go to prison for a very long time.

    • Raymond D. Sweet says :

You are so right, Bangazcracka, GZ should have stayed in his truck. If he felt that Trayvon Martin, 17 unarmed was a criminal he should have called the police. He should not have chased this innocent sweet child down. Your sarcasm is precious, but your reasoning is dumb. No person has authority to chase/follow another person. It was dark, rainy and at what point did GZ fear for his life. I know after he pursued Trayvon Martin, 17 year old unarmed. I know you came on the scene to be foolish, but to those who use your reasoning at what point in the dark of night while you are running away from someone are you feeling threatened. GZ maybe have saved his physical life, but he is going to pay dearly for it mentally/psychologically. He won’t rest. Trayvon Martin, 17 year old unarmed teenager you rest in peace. We got this down here.

  17. JanCorey says :

It was great that Sybrina Fulton will use Trayvon’s name to expand his legacy, maybe with her own line of handgun-accessories like hollow-point-thug-bullets or perhaps some marijuana items like a Trayvon-brand-pot or maybe some bongs and roach clips or maybe some burglary tools like crow bars and glass cutters or maybe have a t-shirt with a gun-target on it with a picture of Trayvon inside the bullseye.
